Overwatch 2, or OW2 for short, is a free-to-play PvP hero shooter game by Blizzard Entertainment.
I've been playing pretty consistently since the game's release in 2023. While I've dabbled in Competitive Play, I'm very much a Quick Play warrior. My friends, boyfriend, and I play to wind down and socialize in the evenings, and Quick Play keeps it casual, silly, and fun without the pressure to perform at my absolute best.
In the past year or so, I've gotten more invested in the game lore and dedicated to improving my strategy and skills. And since I could yap about this game forever, I've made this place to share my love for it all!
The World of Overwatch
(My very, very brief summary of the story)
OW2 is set in our world, 60 years into the future, in a post–world war setting. Overwatch was an international task force that formed as a response to the Omnic Crisis, a worldwide disaster where a rogue enivornmental conservation AI took control of the world's robots and attempted to eliminate all of humanity in the interest of saving the planet. Overwatch comprised scientists, diplomats, soldiers, search-and-rescue forces and more, but most people know it for its elite strike team of heroes.
The Omnic Crisis was eventually quelled by a sentient robot, Aurora, who "awoke" her kind on an instant, global scale and created the Omnic race. Though the war is over, the world is still recovering and new, malevolent forces have risen up to take advantage of its weakened state. A new generation of heroes is needed to protect the world against its latest threats.
Overwatch lore is scattered across many animated shorts, comics, books, short stories, and other media. It's a lot to dig through, so I'd say that the best starting point is the three-part Genesis series.
I play mainly Support because I love the utility of Support heroes on top of their damage abilities. It's a great feeling to be able to enable teammates to make big plays and stay alive. However, I also enjoy playing Damage and the thrill of playing strategically, particularly when the enemy defenses need shaking up.
Baptiste
Role: Support
Country: Haiti
About: Jean-Augustine Baptiste is a former Talon medic who defected to become an Overwatch agent and make amends for his past. He's friendly, upbeat, and often makes corny, flirty jokes, particularly about how good-looking he is.
Kit: Baptiste is a mobile character with a lot of tools to keep his allies standing: a gun that fires healing projectiles, an AOE heal, a healing shoulder turret, and an Immortality Field. He's one of the three supports that does hitscan damage.
Tracer
Role: Damage
Country: England
About: Lena Oxton (call sign: Tracer) is former pilot who is able to move through time and space at will due to a an accident involving a teleporting fighter jet. She's bubbly and optimistic and has an "adorkable" personality.
Kit: Tracer uses her space-time travel abilities to blink short distances and Recall back in time to an earlier physical state. Her playstyle is fast and scrappy, with the goal of distracting the enemy and making openings for her team.
Kiriko
Role: Support
Country: Japan
About: Kiriko Kamori is the next generation to an extraordinary family: a fox shrine priestess grandmother, a master kunoichi mother, and an expert weaponsmith father. Her mission is to bring justice to the yakuza clan that terrorizes her city. She's lively and spunky, but sometimes exudes mean-girl energy.
Kit: Kiriko uses ofuda (talismans) to heal her teammates and kunai to attack enemies at range. Her teleportation and wall climb abilities make her a difficult target to hit.
Cassidy
Role: Damage
Country: USA
About: Cole Cassidy was a robber and outlaw when part of the Deadlock Rebels, but he changed his ways when offered the opportunity to put his gunslinging skills to better use with Blackwatch and, later, Overwatch. He has a laid-back personality and seems to always have one foot out the door when it comes to being an Overwatch agent. Despite what he says, he sticks around.
Kit: Cassidy's kit is simple: a revolver and a flashbang grenade, both of which are most useful at short-range. Accuracy is rewarded with high damage output.

Tier List Maker
During queue times, my friends and I love playing what we call the "Headcanon Game," where we assign headcanons to all the characters based on a prompt. Sometimes they are unique qualities assigned to each character and sometimes they're a position in a tier list. I don't like using tier list sites, which are often out of date and require sign‑ins to make/edit lists, so I made my own here! This tier list maker includes all 44 current heroes, and I plan to update it as new heroes are added.
Instructions: Click the character portraits and drag them to a tier. When you're done, use your native screen-capture tool to take a screenshot and save it to your computer/phone. To reset the list, refresh this page. If you're not sure who a character is, you can hover over their portrait to see their name. The title text and tier names can be edited!!

Pixel Spray Adoptables
Do you love the pixel sprays as much as I do? I'm in the process of converting them to a 1:1 pixel aspect ratio! It's an ambitious task, so please check back for new additions! Not my artwork!!
About the Theme
"Brighter than a Shooting Star" is a theme inspired by Juno Teo Minh. She's a Maritan girl who's timid and naive, but sees the world with curiousity and optimism.
This theme is how I imagine she'd record her thoughts: as a bullet journal decorated with lots of stickers, highlighters, and gel pens. The theme name itself is one of Juno's voice lines!
